Vie et éducation

Le Dr Ahmad Kaviani est né à Qazvin - une ville proche de Téhéran, la capitale de l'Iran - en 1969 et y a fait ses études primaires. Il a ensuite poursuivi ses études de médecine à l'université des sciences médicales de Téhéran jusqu'en mai 1994, date à laquelle il a obtenu son doctorat en médecine de la même université. En septembre de la même année, après avoir réussi l'examen d'internat, il a commencé à travailler dans le domaine de la chirurgie générale à l'université des sciences médicales de Téhéran. Quatre ans plus tard, en septembre 2018, il a obtenu le sixième rang parmi plus de 150 participants aux examens du conseil national de chirurgie générale.

En janvier 2001, à l'issue d'un processus de sélection rigoureux, ses contributions scientifiques et de recherche, notamment la rédaction d'articles et d'ouvrages scientifiques, lui ont valu d'être nommé membre du corps enseignant de l'université des sciences médicales de Téhéran. Depuis lors, il est professeur adjoint au département de chirurgie générale de l'université.

En novembre 2006, le Dr Kaviani a commencé un fellowship en chirurgie du sein et du cancer dans les prestigieux centres des instituts Curie et Gustave Roussy. Il a terminé ce programme avec succès en 2007. En outre, la même année, il a été admis à l'Institut Gustave Roussy à Paris, où il a acquis des connaissances et une expertise dans le domaine de la chirurgie mammaire oncoplastique et reconstructive. Enfin, entre 2006 et 2008, le Dr Kaviani a obtenu le certificat AFSA en chirurgie cancérologique et le diplôme interuniversitaire (DIU) en chirurgie oncoplastique et reconstructive du sein.

À son retour de Paris en 2008, les contributions du Dr Kaviani en matière d'enseignement, de recherche et de thérapie lui ont valu d'être promu de professeur assistant à professeur agrégé de chirurgie à l'université.  En 2010, il a créé la première sous-division universitaire des maladies du sein au sein du service de chirurgie de l'hôpital Imam, le plus grand hôpital universitaire d'Iran. Dans cette sous-division, il pratique diverses interventions chirurgicales pour le traitement du cancer du sein, notamment différents types de mastectomies partielles, des techniques oncoplastiques, des mastectomies totales avec diverses formes de reconstruction mammaire, des symétrisations contra-latérales et des reconstructions du complexe mamelon-aréole, etc. Le Dr Kaviani a fondé le "breast cancer surgery fellowship program" à l'université avec l'aide de ses collègues en 2015, où il a été le coordinateur de ce programme académique à l'université de Téhéran jusqu'à son départ pour le Canada en 2018. 

Grâce à ses activités scientifiques étendues et percutantes, le rang scientifique du Dr Kaviani est passé de professeur associé au prestigieux poste de "professeur titulaire" en décembre 2013, à la suite de l'approbation du comité d'audit de l'Université des sciences médicales de Téhéran.

L'une des activités académiques les plus éminentes du Dr Kaviani est la création d'une revue médicale intitulée Archives of Breast Cancer (www.ArchBreastCancer.com) en 2014. Il a accompli avec succès cette grande tâche scientifique internationale grâce à son dévouement à la recherche, à ses efforts personnels, à son soutien financier personnel et à l'aide de professeurs renommés d'universités prestigieuses de différents pays tels que les États-Unis, le Canada, la France, le Japon, la Suisse, la Belgique, l'Angleterre et l'Iran. Récemment, la revue a célébré sa dixième année de publication en tant que revue scientifique internationale. Archives of Breast Cancer est reconnue et indexée dans d'importantes bases de données telles que Scopus, Embase, EBSCO, Index Copernicus, etc. Cela témoigne de l'importance de la revue et de la large diffusion de ses recherches.

Ces dernières années, ses activités de recherche ont progressé de manière significative, comme en témoigne la publication de plus de 125 articles de recherche dans des revues internationales réputées, évaluées par des pairs, à la fin de l'année 2022.

En 2018, le Dr Kaviani a déménagé au Canada après avoir rejoint l'Université de Montréal en tant que boursier en oncologie chirurgicale. Depuis 2022, le Dr Kaviani est activement engagé dans ses activités académiques dans le domaine de la chirurgie du cancer du sein en tant que chirurgien universitaire au sein du département d'oncologie chirurgicale de l'Université de Montréal. Cependant, il maintient une communication scientifique régulière avec des collègues universitaires et des professeurs de différentes universités, assurant ainsi une collaboration et un échange de connaissances continus.

Respectant les codes d'éthique médicale, le Dr Kaviani a donné la priorité à la continuité des soins pour ses anciens patients. Pour garantir l'accessibilité à ses patients persanophones, il a créé une clinique virtuelle pour les maladies du sein appelée "Ruban" en 2020. Le conseil scientifique du Dr Kaviani n'a pas bénéficié d'un financement pour le lancement de cette startup,  www.RubanApp.com
